If you reach the top of the cliff, you can see the awesome view of the coral reefs beneath the ocean. Rock climbing safety is a major concern in the area. Most of the routes of the limestone cliffs of Tonsai Beach are provided with safety nets that are bolted, which are intended for safe and secure sports climbing. Strong ropes are threaded through them to ensure that climbers will be safe in case they fall. However, climbers should always bear in mind that all bolts and ropes are placed by fellow climbers and that they should be cautious and place their safety above all else when climbing cliffs in Thailand. Climbers should not rely on the durability or the capacity of the equipment for their own safety. They should personally check the strength of their gear before proceeding with their claim, for in that way, they can be assured that they are safe. It is also advisable to check your partner’s own body weight to ensure a safe and enjoyable climb.

There is an abundance of climbing schools on the island. You can choose from private to group sessions at affordable rates, and there are a lot of instructors to teach you the basics of how to rock climb. When to Go to Tonsai Beach

The best time to visit the limestone cliffs in Tonsai beach is between November and April. Tonsai Bay stays smooth and flat the whole year round, making an unforgettable experience for water sports fanatics. During the rainy season in Thailand, which is usually in the months of May to October, the ocean waves can rise as high as five meters—to the delight of adventurous surfers.

During low tide, tourists and visitors have to travel and carry their belongings through murky and slippery mud because the boats must anchor far from the shoreline.

Although summer is the best time to visit Tonsai Beach, don’t fret about visiting the island during the rainy season. Although there are heavy downpours, the climate in the beautiful country is still warm, and the torrential rains are usually short. It is also the best time to visit the country during the rainy season as the bargains being offered by hotel operators are hard to resist. More importantly, the island is less crowded.

Odds n' Ends

When visiting the limestone cliffs of Tonsai Beach there are certain expenses that should be considered, such as the airfare going to and from the mainland, and the chartered boat fare going to the island of Railay Beach. Tourists and visitors should also prepare a budget for accommodation. Visitors can chose from affordable bungalow rates to a more luxurious expensive five star hotel.

There is not much to do on the island aside from rock climbing, swimming and snorkeling, and admiring the breathtaking scenery. You can also do some canoeing and kayaking. If you are looking for that peace and quiet and stress-free environment, this is the best place to relax and unwind.
