Admire the Art Exhibits of the Luminato Festival

If you have visited Toronto before, you know that it is one of the most cosmopolitan and multicultural cities in North America. The United Nations Development Program tells us that Toronto has the 2nd largest percentage of foreign-born residents among all major cities. There are of course many Canadians and Americans here too, but according to recent statistics, the minority population is expected to go up to 63% by 2031. With so many people from so many backgrounds calling Toronto home, it's not surprising that the cultural scene here is so interesting. There are indeed lots of festivals here. However, you will hardly find one that is more interesting than the Luminato Festival.

Luminato is aptly called the “Toronto Festival of Arts and Creativity”. If you happen to visit this mega city in Canada, and attend this summer festival, you'll surely agree that this is perhaps the biggest event on Toronto’s creative calendar. This annual Toronto Festival is held over 10 days every year in the month of June, and the entire city comes out to celebrate.

Although the Luminato Festival is about art and creativity, and welcomes international artists, there is always special focus on local artists. It's a great sampling of some of Toronto's most talented artists from nearly every variety of art imaginable. Luminato showcases a wide variety of art including contemporary or classical music, theatrical performances, dance programs, visual arts, literature, film, music and design. In fact, there is something for everybody here.

Luminato is held at different locations across the city, but most of them are in downtown Toronto. Past venues in Toronto have included open-air venues like the Beaches or Dundas Square, and others are more traditional and enclosed, like theaters or skyscrapers. You may not need a ticket or a pass for many open-air venues, while you may need it for others. It all depends on the show and how famous it is. The ticket price will also depend on this. Luminato tickets are at a premium due to popular interest, so make sure that you have yours. Leave it to late, and you might be disappointed.
