Ride the Cables to the Top of Table Mountain, Cape Town

The Experience
Nelson Mandela once described Table Mountain as a beacon of hope representing the mainland to which he would one day return after his years of incarceration. To this day, Table Mountain is still portrayed as a precious and sacred place where people come to enjoy the views and reflect. One of the quickest and entertaining ways to reach its summit is to ride the Table Mountain cable car. They operate every day as long as the weather permits, and although the mountaintop can also be reached by walking, it’s easier and more exciting to take the cable car. It’s okay if you're a little scared of heights, as it will all pay off once you’re up the mountain and the views take over you.
Riding the Table Mountain cable car to the top gives you a 360-degree view of Cape Town, including the neighbouring peaks and the ocean. When to Go to Table Mountain Cable Car
The best time of year to visit Cape Town and ride the Table Mountain cable car is on long sunny days with late sunsets. This time will provide you more opportunities to explore the mountain freely. There are two easy ways to getting to the Cableway. Either take public transport, or use your own vehicle. The Table Mountain Lower Cable Station is a fifteen-minute drive from the city centre, and along the way you’ll see the road guide clearly posted on the major roads. Buses and taxis are always available to transport you from the city to the Cableway, and vice versa.
