The Experience

Unbelievably colourful, Tanzania is an African country where diversity is given a whole new different meaning. Although Tanzania’s tourism is not yet at its peak, it promises something that will make any man wanting for more. Its game reserves, landscapes, even its traditions and culture are all delightfully and intricately mixed up in a labyrinth of balance and harmony that people admire. Tanzania’s hospitality is legendary and its heritage is deeply well rooted.

Often referred to as the land of smiles, Tanzanians is one of the friendliest people on earth. Even during hard times, these people still found a way to incorporate music and fellowship in their way of life. They are hard working and they value their ancestral heritage so much you can feel their very souls.

Since 2003, the Sauti Za Busara Music Festival has been promoting the East African music and local artists. Also since 2003, visitors from all over Africa and Europe attend this annual “friendship” festival to further understand the African culture and their way of life. Busara Music Festival has since fostered a good relationship among many other African cultures and maintained international peace as well.

When to Go

Visitors and participants kept coming back because of the inner peace they felt during the festival. Meaningful songs sang from the deepest core of East African singers touched other’s lives. Grand performances has left the audience star struck and wanting for an encore. It was truly something they have never felt before. There are already hundreds of festivals and concerts around the world for different humanitarian causes as well, but nothing like the simplicity and sincerity of these people’s voices longing for recognition, wanting peace and asking for the world’s support.

There were also various workshops for visitors and participant to further strengthen their knowledge of East African culture, its people and its history. These artistic and technical workshops also included members of the media, arts managers, musical technical professionals and many others. These workshops proved to be fruitful endeavours for all who attended and ultimately Tanzania in their continuous fight against poverty, oppression and environmental depletion and extinction.

Busara Music Festival is held every year. On 2012 the festival will be on February 8-12. It is definitely an event to look forward to. Tanzania however can be best enjoyed during the dry season which is in the months of June until October. It can also be enjoyed during the light rain season which is during the months of November and December.

Odds n' Ends

Tourists come to Tanzania to witness the great wildebeest migration. It’s truly a sight to behold. Together with other wild animals like zebras, gazelles and many other wild creatures, the great migration is one of Tanzania’s landmarks.

A visit to Tanzania is never complete without going to Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park. Both are trademarks of Tanzania and visiting these wonders of nature is an experience of a lifetime. The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact crater in the world. It is a protective area because of the diverse wildlife it nourishes because of the richness of its environment. You will never get tired of the blue lake like water of its crater with the lush of green vegetation surrounding it. Serengeti on the other hand is Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park with thousands upon thousands of wildlife co-existing in a balanced eco-system. You might also want to visit Tanzania’s hidden treasure, The Ruaha National Park. It lies hidden in the shadows of the Tanzania’s great crater and vast game reserve.
