I'm a student at the University of Toronto who loves travel and writing! This site is a great combination of the two. My favourite places to go (so far) have been London, Rome, New York City, and Chicago, for their combined charm of architecture, history, and great food.

Faneuil Hall's Vibrant Bostonian Charm

Created on October 24, 2010 by Veronica Litt, Writer

If there is one word to describe Faneuil Hall, then “alive” would have to be it. The marketplace is renowned as an inviting, vibrant destination. If you make it to Boston, you just have to see Faneuil Hall. The atmosphere around the 1742 building is distinctly Bostonian: bright, friendly and fun. One reason for this could be the rich history that occurred at Faneuil Hall. Faneuil Hall was built by Peter Faneuil, a wealthy Bostonian merchant, and given as a gift to the city. Highlights of the Hall’s history include Samuel Adams’s rally against dependence on the commonwealth, George Washington’s celebration of America's first birthday, and the Sugar Act protests, where the famous phrase "No taxation without representation" was coined. Created on October 24, 2010 by Veronica Litt, Writer

The Art Institute of Chicago is hands down sure to be a highlight of anyone’s trip to the bustling city of blues and deep-dish pizza. The Art Institute of Chicago has a reputation as one of America’s premiere art destinations; a reputation with which art enthusiastic travellers simply must agree with. The famous museum is full of art from as far back as 5,000 years ago. Aside from its interior finery, the building itself exhibits Chicago’s distinctive flair for architectural elegance and beauty; becoming a work of art itself. Although it began as a school-museum combination, today the 1893 building stands solely as a place to exhibit beautiful, compelling, and grand pieces of art. The Art Institute of Chicago houses such famous works as Vincent ...

Spectacular Views of London from the Iconic Tower Bridge

Created on October 18, 2010 by Veronica Litt, Writer

London’s Tower Bridge is one of the city of London’s most famous landmark attractions, and is a national symbol that makes you think of the splendours and history of London just from the sight of it. The iconic status of London’s Tower Bridge has seen it featured in several films and television series, including the critically lauded Spice World, the recent remake of Sherlock Holmes, and, lest we forget, the most British of all TV “programmes”: Doctor Who. Tower Bridge opened to the public after eight years of construction in 1894, and quickly became a public icon. However, in order to become the bridge it is today, several changes had to occur, both on the interior and exterior. During World War II, a third steam ...
